[Meta] NaNoWriMo Day 21

Another 1,714 words tonight, 37,708 total, and a chapter that doesn't want to end. In general, chapter length is proving very uneven, and I need to decide what, if anything I want to do about that.

But I introduced a significant plot point tonight, and I'm pretty pleased with it from the standpoint of a science fictional premise!
